NRA HOME FIREARM SAFETY

PLEASE NOTE: If you are interested in this class for a Concealed Carry Pistol Permit, this will ONLY count those who submitted their pistol permit applications BEFORE SEPT 1, 2022.  If you received notification that your judge is asking you to complete a safety class, this 4-hour class is typically sufficient.  PLEASE confirm that this is the case for you in YOUR county.

This safety class will NOT meet ANY of the NY State Requirements for an application for a Concealed Carry Permit for anyone who submitted their applications AFTER SEPT 1, 2022.
 

This course teaches clients the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms and ammunition in the home. It explores the 3 different types of firearms (handguns, shotguns and rifles), their actions, and intended uses.

In this four-hour non-shooting course, clients are taught NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearms accidents; different firearm categories; firearm parts; how to load/unload different action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; and safe storage of firearms in the home.

 Cost for the course is $55 and includes all materials.
