PISTOL PERMIT CLASSES

when you submitted your permit application
New York State Pistol Permit Safety Class
for those who submitted their applications PRIOR to Sept 1, 2022
NRA Home Firearm Safety is a nationally-recognized course that meets the requirements for those counties that require a safety course for those who submitted their pistol permits prior to Sept 1, 2022. NRA Home Firearm Safety is a four-hour non shooting course and your $55 enrollment includes all required materials.
Please understand that rules/applications change often and it is your responsibility to understand and follow the requirements of your county.
New York State Concealed Carry Permit Class
for those who submitted their permit application
AFTER Sept 1, 2022 and want a Concealed Carry Permit
The current requirements to submit a concealed carry pistol permit application in New York State include 16 hours of training with 2 hours of live-fire range time. This will be done over TWO days. You MUST successfully complete BOTH training classes to obtain a certificate of training completion for your pistol permit application.
Day ONE will be the NRA Basic Pistol Course. You enroll in that class and you will have use of our pistols and ammunition. Day TWO will be the course listed as Day 2: NY State Concealed Carry Permit Class. You can do these classes in any order you choose. Upon meeting all course requirements, you will be given a certificate for your pistol permit application.
Out-of-State Pistol Permit Class (UT/AZ/FL)
By obtaining your out-of-state pistol permits from UT/AZ/FL, this allows you to carry your firearm in a multitude of states due to reciprocity agreements between the states. This course gives you everything you need including fingerprint cards, fingerprint services by a certified technician, properly sized photos, the required educational program and all materials. You will leave with three complete packets to simply add your payments and mail. Course fee is $125 and includes all.
