NY STATE CARRY CONCEALED PISTOL PERMIT/18 HR TRAINING

For those who submit their pistol permit application
AFTER Sept 1, 2022
and want a Concealed Carry Pistol Permit 18 hours of training is required.
You must complete "NRA Basic Pistol" as well as
"Day 2: NY State Concealed Carry Permit Class".
Take the classes in whatever order you choose.
We will help you throughout the application process.
The requirements to submit a NY State Concealed Carry Pistol Permit application in New York State include 16 hours of training and 2 hours of live-fire range time (18hrs total). This will be done over TWO days. You MUST successfully complete BOTH training classes to obtain a certificate of training completion for your pistol permit application.
Day ONE will be the NRA Basic Pistol Course. You enroll in that class and you will use our pistols and ammunition for your live-fire training. You can do these classes in any order you choose.
Day TWO will be the course listed as Day 2: NY State Concealed Carry Training. You can do these classes in any order you choose.
You do NOT need any training to apply for a Premise Only Pistol Permit. However, you may find judges still want you to have done safety training. We suggest all applicants take NRA Basic Pistol. You can add Day 2 training within five years and have your permit restrictions removed with an amendment to a concealed carry permit upon completion of both courses.
Please note: If you have a Felony or domestic violence conviction, are a drug user, a fugitive from justice, or a DWI conviction within the past 5 years, or would otherwise be prohibited from legally accessing a firearm, you would not be allowed to attend nor apply.
